Many thanks for all the email and postal returns regarding the AGM. The accounts and chairman’s report were universally accepted and all club officials, I’m pleased to say, were unanimously re-elected. I can also confirm the appointment of three new trustees in the names of Barry Lynch, Michael Law and Neil Fielding who I’m sure you will agree will serve us well as safe custodians of the club.
Can I thank many of you for early payment of subscriptions which is much appreciated in these difficult times. For those of you wishing to pay you can do so via the club website online at www.BacupCC.com or to club officials at Lanehead when the ground reopens.
On that note, the players are itching to get back into action with training being permitted from March 29th. We have home friendly fixtures v Longridge on Saturday April 3rd and Padiham Saturday April 10th when spectators will be welcome but the bar must remain closed. The second team are in action away at Longridge on April 3rd whilst the third team begin the season with a home fixture on Sunday April 11th. The first eleven finish their schedule of friendly matches on Saturday 17th April away at Colne.
The league season begins on Sunday April 18th when Enfield are the visitors to Lanehead and the beer garden will be open. We are hoping that our professional Sachithra Serasinghe will be here on time for the start of the season although current regulations are suggesting that he will need to isolate for 10 days at home on arrival.
Here’s looking forward to seeing you soon and an enjoyable and successful season.
Regards
Neal
