Bacup's miserable form in the league continued with two more defeats on a double header weekend. At Rawtenstall on Saturday Bacup were asked to bat first and were bowled out for a paltry 65 with only Schofield (20) and Ben Lord (19) making double figures. Rawtenstall professional van Wyngaardt did most of the damage taking 5 for 24 with Roscoe picking up 2 for 12 and Payne 2 for 3.
Rawtenstall made short work of knocking the runs off making 67 for 1 off only 11.1 overs with van Wyngaardt on 46 not out and Killelea 20 not out.
There was a slight improvement on Sunday but the same result. At home to Enfield Bacup again batted first making 121 all out. Collinge top scored with 32 with Newbitt making 15 and Ben Lord 13. Serasinghe took early wickets to put Bacup in with a chance, but in the end Enfield made it home comfortably winning by 5 wickets.
The second eleven had a mixed weekend starting with a heavy defeat against Rawtenstall. Tayyib made 29 not out and Aziz 26 as some late order hitting boosted Rawtenstall's total to 137 all out. For Bacup Shepherd took 4 for 40 and George Sumner 3 for 39.
In reply Bacup slumped to 47 all out with only Dom Boardman (11) making double figures. Testa impressed for Rawtenstall picking up 4 for 7.
It was another low scoring game on Sunday at Enfield with Bacup being bowled out for 109 in 35.2 overs with Highley (23) and Knights (22) being the main contributors.
However, in a tight game Enfield fell 23 runs short in being dismissed for 87. Charlie Gansler impressed with 4 for 18 with Donovan picking up 3 for 30 and Butcher 2 for 15.
