After captain for the day George Parkinson lost the toss we were asked to bat.
Runs were hard to come by and having lost 4 wickets we were 209 at the half way stage.
Wilfie and George Hopkinson increased the tempo and we were 237 with George Parkinson and Rowan to come. Although we lost a few wickets George hit a good few boundaries including a towering 6 off the last ball which I believe earned him some significant cash.
247 was the target and with some good balling and fielding we we’re confident of another win.
At half time they were 216 so on top but the last 2 pairs got away from us. We got 9 wickets shared with Lexi and George Hopkinson 2 each but too many wides (20) and just about ok fielding cost us.
Small margins as we were only 4 bad going into the last over.
Man of the Match was George Hopkinson with no outs 2 wickets and a good extended spell wicket keeping not to mention an outstanding catch off his own bowling.
