What a difference a week makes!

Unfortunately George Parkinson lost the toss and no surprise we were asked to bat. Read must have been very confident they could make it back to back wins after a comfortable win last Sunday.

Batting first has proved a problem so far this season but not today!!

Enter George and Lexi. A great 30 run partnership with George hitting 5 fours in his 22. Bella and Belle continued with steady progress then Wilfie and Blake (on debut) took up the mantle. A 20 plus partnership Wilfie hitting 3 fours in his 19. Some great running from Fin and George got us to a very impressive 280.

George Hopkinson got us off to the perfect start with a 3 wicket Maden including a great caught and balled and a great catch from Belle. Belle and Blake combined beautifully for a run out and they were -10 after the first pair. The rout continued another wicket from Isabelle and tight bowling still -9 after pair 2. A late rally got Read up to 227 but not before 2 more great run outs from Fin and Bella and a wicket from Fin.

A truly great all round performance and our fielding was amazing. A tough decision on the MOM but George Hopkinson got it with 3 for 0, some great running with 0 outs and some excellent fielding and wicket keeping.
