U9's Match Report

Thu 12/6 Salesbury Cup

Windy conditions at Lanehead as Lexy lost the toss and we were asked to bat first.

A really poor performance with the bat with only 2 players on positive runs. Lexy with a brilliant 15 and

Noah. Too many wickets lost by being balled swinging at straight balls.

Really proud of how we battled in the second half and we bowled really well taking 10 wickets ourselves. 7 of the 8 took wickets with George, Etty and Wilfie each getting 2. The match went to an exciting last over and we went just 2 behind when Bella got a wicket but it wasn’t to be losing by 10 in the end.

This was definitely a game we could and should have won despite the opposition being in a higher league. Batting was nothing like Monday when we only lost 1 wicket!! Our fielding was very average as well with players not concentrating and taking our eyes off the ball. We have to stop boundaries and a few sloppy 4s conceded proved costly.

Man of the Match was Lexy with outstanding batting and a great catch off her own bowling.
