Profile:
Thomas has made his way through the junior teams at Bacup, making his first team
debut this season (2007) at the age of sixteen, although he did figure as a
substitute fielder last season, taking two good catches on his first appearance.
He has a good eye for a ball, hits it well and is now learning the value of
improving his defensive technique. His first innings in first team cricket
produced a cameo of an innings when he came in towards the end of the overs and
proceeded to strike the ball well. Universally known as "T-Cake", his apparent
lack of nerves showed in this innings when, in the last over, he turned down a
risky second run which would have gvien Chris Harris the strike back and then
hit two boundaries off the next two balls! Quick in the field with a safe pair
of hands, we look forward to watching his progress in the future. (TG, 2007)
