Profile:
Matthew, the son of former Bacup captain David, has progressed through the youth teams (and a spell as second team scorer at the age of ten!) and made his debut in the first team this year (2008) after a superb start to the season when he just couldn't stop scoring runs in the second and third teams. The promise that we have seen over the years was confirmed when, at the age of fifteen, he scored his maiden Lancashire League half-century in his third innings, off only 58 balls.
