A very good player of fast bowling, Spencer excels on hard and fast pitches. Spencer is an extremely big hitter of the ball and timing accounts for a large proportion of the power in his shot play. Defensively, Spencer has the ability to hold-up one end well and allow his partner to make the running if necessary. Spencer's bowling, as is his batting, is best suited to hard and fast pitches. Quicker than you would expect, he is able to rush batsman and force errors. He has worked hard over recent seasons on his fitness and this is visible in the extra pace he has found whilst bowling and the extra over or two he is able to force out.
